So i'm putting in a new wood base for my helm seat on my 175 and planning to epoxy it to waterproof it. Should I bother adding fiberglass too, or is the epoxy enough to keep it strong and dry? Want to make sure it lasts without extra work. Thanks!
How exposed is the base on your 175? Epoxy alone does a solid job sealing and waterproofing, especially if you coat all surfaces well. If the area sees a lot of stress or moisture, a layer of glass cloth should work

Thanks. I did coat it all the way around, but now that you mention it, the very base is probably the most exposed part. Its not constantly wet, but it does get a decent amount of splash and occasional standing water. Would you recommend glassing just the bottom surface, or wrapping the cloth a bit up the sides too for added protection??
