Trim tab advice

My dad owns a 2020 Bayliner DX2000 and we've been using it mostly in the Gulf near Sarasota. He's thinking about adding trim tabs to help with bow rise when we're cruising with a full crew. I've read that the DX series has a different hull shape than the VR models, so I'm not sure if tabs behave the same way. Has anyone here installed tabs on a DX2000 and noticed better handling or stability? We're also curious if the swim platform design limits placement.

We have a 2018 Bayliner VR5 and added trim tabs last year. It really helped when the boat was full, got on plane faster and rode smoother in rough water. The DX hull is wider at the back, so you may need to think carefully about where to put the tabs near the swim platform. Have you checked out 9x12 or 12x12 tab sizes? Also, do you usually ride at a steady speed or go full throttle?

Glad to hear the tabs improved your VR5. We cruise at steady speeds with family and are measuring the transom to find a fit, hoping to order a kit this fall for winter installation. Given our cruising style, would a larger 12x12 tab work better at low speeds?
