I've been wanting something to keep my trolling lines tracking without steering constantly. I stumbled upon an old AutoTroll setup still in the box for $250 at a garage sale which came with the heading sensor too. I cleaned it up and sprayed it black to better match my console. Does anyone else still use these? I'm curious how well they hold up with modern fishfinders running nearby.

A friend of mine uses the autotroll and he is very happy with it; it may be a bit old-school but it's very solid for trolling. Make sure that the wires are clean and separated. I would really like to hear from you how yours performs since those are very rare finds these days. :)

Still in the box for $250? That's a neat find and a solid deal! I know a few guys who still run those older AutoTrolls, and they generally hold up surprisingly well. You might pick up a little bit of interference on your fishfinder depending on how close everything's mounted and the quality of your wiring, but it's usually pretty minor. I bet you'll be happy with not having to constantly steer!
