My husband has a 1992 Bayliner Boats Avanti 3555 Sports Bridge that has been part of our summers for a long time. We've taken her on countless weekend trips and family outings, so it was disappointing to find fuel in the bilge earlier this week. After pumping out what we could and checking the lines, we traced the source to corrosion on the 200-gallon alloy tank. From what I can tell, the tank sits partly under the aft bunk and extends into the engine room where the pickups, vents and sender are located, which makes removal look tricky. Before we start pulling apart interior sections, I'd like to know if anyone here has done this replacement and can share how they handled the access, the lift-out or any unexpected challenges along the way.
